2013 Infiniti JX Crossover

There's a new piece to the puzzle that is the 2013 Infiniti JX as today, the Japanese automaker published the most revealing -up until now, that is- teaser photo showing the front end of its new 7-seater luxury crossover.

Infiniti's dedicated Facebook page says that aside from the initial sketch, we're going to see a total of 7 live photos of the JX before it is officially unveiled in concept trim at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California on August 18.
Not counting the sketch, the company has released four photos of the crossover model, so three more to go.

New Infiniti JX Crossover With Teaser Shot

A lightly disguised concept version of Infiniti�s new JX luxury crossover will be shown to the public at the the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August, but until then, the Japanese automaker plans to keep us on our toes with a string of teaser shots.

New Infiniti JX 7-Seat Crossover

Infiniti�s slow striptease of its upcoming JX crossover continues today with the release of the first real-life photograph of the seven-passenger model, which will receive its public outing in concept form at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d�Elegance on August 18, 2011.

The Japanese automaker had previously shown a teaser sketch of the luxury crossover that will debut in production trim at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November and go on sale as the 2013 Infiniti JX in the Spring of 2012. It will be built at Nissan�s assembly plant in Smyrna, Tennessee.

�Families don�t have many luxury vehicle options today. The new Infiniti JX will be the 7-passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now,� said Ben Poore, vice president of Infiniti Americas

The company hasn�t released any more details on its new crossover but it is believed that the JX will offer buyers a choice of engines and possibly the option of all-wheel drive.

Vilner has unleashed the Infiniti EX37 and FX37

Bulgarian design house Vilner has unleashed its new styling proposals for the inner works of the Infiniti EX37 and FX37 crossovers. Instead of going for the usual exterior upgrades and performance mods, Vilner�s team focused on improving the look and feel of the Inifniti models� interiors.
645px; height: 349px;" Beginning with the EX37, the Bulgarian tuner purportedly drew its inspiration from�.yachts with the Infiniti�s new seat upholsteries, roof lining, sun visors, instrument panel cover and lower door panels dressed in a material called �Amaretta�.
For the FX37, Vilner used a combination of black Nappa leather for the seats, steering wheel and upper dashboard, and Alcantara for certain parts of the interior such as the roof and the seat bases.

Infiniti FX30dS 280HP-Tuned

European Infiniti shoppers have the option of ordering certain models with the firm�s new six-cylinder diesel engine and the FX luxury crossover is one of them. For those buyers that would like a light tune up of their diesel-powered FX30d there is AHG Sport, the in-house performance division of the Infiniti Centre in Hamburg, Germany.
When it leaves the factory, the FX30d�s 3.0-liter V6 oil-burner cranks out 238-horsepower and 550Nm (406 lb ft) of pulling power available at 1750rpm. Even though AHG Sports doesn�t provide specific details on the engine tune, the company says output is lifted to 280-horses and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of peak torque. This upgrade is priced at �1,250 or about US$1,790.
The fine-tuning continues with a lowered sports suspension priced at �1,495 (US$2,130) and a new set of three-piece, 21-inch alloy wheels from Schmidt Revolution shod in performance tires size 295/40 R21 on all four corners (�7,900 or US$11,270).

Infiniti G37 Lineup 2011

The new model year brings some changes to Infiniti�s G37 lineup in Europe that comprises of sedan, coup� and convertible body styles, along with rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive options. For starters, all 2011MY G37s are now equipped as standard with a 7-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel paddle-shifts. There are also new alloy wheel designs for the Coup� and Cabrio models, a standard rear spoiler on Coup� S versions, and new body colors for all models, including the Malbec Black finish that was first seen on the M sedan. The G37 sedan series is available in four trim levels, including the base rear-wheel drive [RWD] model, the all-wheel drive G37x GT and G37x GT Premium, and the RWD G37 S Premium that comes with a Viscous Limited Slip Differential, sports suspension and enhanced braking among other things.
For 2011, there are three models in the G37 Coup� range, all automatic and all rear-wheel drive: G37 GT, G37 S and the flagship, G37 S Premium.
Finally, Infiniti has cut down the G37 Cabrio�s 2011 range to just one model, the GT Premium, which comes equipped with many features including new 19-inch wheels, a 13-speaker sound system with personal head-rest speakers and a 300-CD capacity HDD Music Box.

Infiniti Etherea Hybrid Concept

This five-door hatchback model is the Infiniti Etherea concept, and it's set to be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March. The Etherea previews the Japanese brand's foray into the compact luxury segment, with the production model scheduled to enter the market within the next two to three years.
Designed under the supervision of Senior Vice President of Design Shiro Nakamura, the 4.4 meter long concept is said to blend elements of coup�, sedan, hatchback and even crossover models "in one highly sculptural, near-mono volume form". The Etherea also incorporates styling cues from the Japanese firm's well received Essence sports car study from 2009 including the...blurry-shaped C-pillar and front grille design.
While Infiniti did not publish any information on the Etherea's mechanical hardware, the logo on the front fenders tells us that it gets a hybrid powertrain. We'll have more on the Etherea concept after its presentation at the Geneva Salon.

New 2012 Infiniti M35h Hybrid

The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) fuel economy figures for Infiniti's all-new M35h are finally out. According to the government agency, the Japanese brand's first-ever hybrid model returns an estimated fuel economy of 27 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and 29 mpg on the combined cycle.
For comparison, the conventional M37 with a 330HP 3.7-liter V6 is rated at 18 mpg City and 26 mpg Highway, while the M56 that is powered by a 420HP 5.6-liter V8, at 16 mpg City and 25 mpg Highway.
The M35h's drivetrain pairs a 3.5-liter 24-valve V6 engine with 306HP to a 50 kW [68HP] electric motor for a system net output of 360 horsepower. Both the gasoline V6 and electric motor deliver their power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission. Infiniti says the 1.830 kg (4.035 lbs) luxury sedan can reach 62mph (100km/) from standstill in 5.5 seconds en route to a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
According to the Japanese automaker, the M35h can drive on electric power alone at speeds up to 62 mph for a distance of up to 1.2 miles at a time.
U.S. sales of the 2012 M35h will start this spring.
