Lamborghini Sues Las Vegas Business

Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has unleashed a snarling pack of lawyers against the owners of an exotic car showroom, merchandise gallery and restaurant at the Palazzo resort in Las Vegas.
Lamborghinis lawsuit claims that the companies that operate Dal Toro Exotic Car Showroom, Merchandise Gallery and Ristorante Italiano have been using the brands raging bull logo.
The Las Vegas Sun reported that the lawsuit states: "Brashly, defendants prominently display a large and striking Lamborghini bull-in-shield protected design mark at the entrance of defendants' premises and a Lamborghini protected type mark within defendants' exotic car showroom.
Lamborghini's trademark infringement action filed in a Las Vegas court this past Wednesday also states that Dal Toro has been selling knockoff products and accessories at its stores.
Defendants advertisement, promotion and sale of the knockoff products is part of a sophisticated and elaborate scheme to target Lamborghini, to create products that are similar in appearance to well-known Lamborghini products, and to trade upon the goodwill and reputation associated with Lamborghini and its high quality, distinctive product lines, including by deliberately misleading the public and the trade as to the authenticity, source, affiliation or sponsorship of defendants operations and products.
Lorenzo Barracco, a manager at Dal Toro, told the Las Vegas Sun that he was unaware of the lawsuit.

Fiero-Based Lamborghini Diablo Replica with BMW V12 Power

If a Fiero-based Ferrari replica is a Fierrari, then I figure its Lamborghini equivalent must be a Lambieroghini. Heres one such monstrosity for sale on eBay, though on closer inspection theres a lot to like about it.
For one, though its incomplete, much of the grunt work has already been done. The unpainted fibreglass body that replicates the Diablo VT 6.0's styling has been mated to the tubular steel frame and the gas door struts, power window motors and headlights have all been installed.
Also, the brake rotors are from a Corvette and the wheels are genuine 2004 Lamborghini Murcilago 18-inch stock clad in Pirelli P-Zero rubber.
There are also stainless steel exhaust tips, an aluminium gauge panel and all the required interior fibreglass components and switchgear graphics included with the car though not fitted. Same goes for the OEM taillights and door glass.
Better still is whats under the hood: a BMW M70 5.0 L V12, the same one used in the E32 7-Series and E31 8-Series, mated to an Audi Getrag 016 5spd manual tranny - though the supplied clutch and flywheel have yet to be installed. The same goes for the engine wiring, sensors and the ECU.
The bad news? Well, theres no windshield or three-quarter-glass and youd have to live with the fact that underneath its a 1988 Pontiac Fiero. Though the price is currently at a reasonable US$11,100, the seller is quick to point out:
This is not a complete working car. It is being sold as a project car. It cannot be driven, it will need to be towed. It is highly recommended that you come see the car before purchasing if possible.
So whats the verdict? Would you or wouldnt you? Be sure to check out our fully gallery of image below and leave a comment with your decision.

VIDEO: See the Birth of a Lamborghini Aventador

Weve already shown you our fair share of Aventador videos including films of Lamborghinis top dog being assembled in a museum, tearing up the Vallelunga race track and even a virtual promo clip. But truth is, we never get tired of checking out Lamborghinis newest supercar, if not in the flesh, then at least on video. And we imagine neither do you.
The newest film to come out from Sant Agata shows the entire process of the Aventadors conception - from a sketch on paper through CAD models and the stitching of leather by hand, to the assembly of the fabulous V12 and the honing of the carbonfibre parts But lets not say anymore just follow the jump and watch it for yourself.

Heres something you dont see every day: a 1970's style resin sculpture made by an unknown French artist and featuring various 1:24 scale Ferraris.
Theres also a Lamborghini Diablo, Jaguar XJ220 and Bugatti EB110 in there among others. Props to anyone who can help us identify the rest. The unusual item is being sold by Mantiques Modern [sic] of New York.
For details on price, youll have to contact the dealer, but something tells us it wont be cheap More photos of the artsy piece in the gallery

McLaren Will Spend $1 billion to Challenge Ferrari and Lamborghini

After Lotus, Italian supercar makers have another British contender challenging their supremacy. McLaren is the most successful team in Formula 1 after Ferrari, and yesterday opened its first dealership in the most prestigious part of London.
According to a news report from Bloomberg, the British automaker has much broader plans: its managing director, Antony Sheriff, revealed in an interview that McLaren Automotive intends to spend as much as $1 billion in developing and marketing costs to launch 13 new models and variants in the following years to challenge the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini.
I see it as a fantastic challenge to come to the market with a new brand said Executive Chairman Ron Dennis in Bloomberg Television late last night.
McLaren has already invested about $320 million to develop its 458 Italia challenger, the $200,000 MP4-12C and last month unveiled its $500,000 racing counterpart. The street-legal version of the MP4-12C, which at this point is McLarens sole production car, has already proven to be a hit, with more than 2,000 orders and a two-year waiting list.

2015 Lamborghini Aventador SV

While everyone is still waiting for the Spyder version of the recently launched Lamborghini AventadorTopGear went ahead and put ink to paper on aSuper Veloce version. The rendering is a little premature considering the Super Veloce will be the last edition released and a leaked source revealed it shouldnt be here until 2015, but the graphics sure make it wildly entertaining. Sort of like Lamborghini meets japanimation.
The SV package offered for the Murcielago model adds an extra 100 HP over the standard model, so applying the same formula to the Aventador will get the vehicle to about 800 galloping stallions. With the extra output, plus improved aerodynamics and a reduced weight of about 220 lbs, the Aventador SV should deliver the best performance numbers Lamborghini has ever offered in a supercar. For comparison;s sake, the standard Aventador comes with a top speed of 217 mph and sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds.
