This will c?ntinue a p?sitive trend for the company. Iin 2011, 12 M-B m?dels are subject t? the dreaded gas-guzzler tax, ?ne less than in 2010 and 10 fewer than in 2006.
Instituted back in 1978, the gas-guzzler tax is applied at the p?int ?f purchase against vehicles with exceptionally l?w fuel economy. The ?ne-time fee ranges fr?m $1,200 t? $7,700.

In addition t? eliminating vehicles fr?m the list, M-B says five 2011 models � S600, S65 AMG, CL600, CL65 AMG and CL63 AMG � are subject t? reduced taxes compared t? the prior year's am?unt. Vehicles expected t? escape the dreaded gas guzzler tax f?r 2012 include the CLS550 and CLS63 AMG. Both are c?mpletely redesigned f?r the new year and have improved fuel econ?my ratings.
