About Honda Jazz - Honda Jazz is a 5-door hatchback car produced by Japanese car manufacturer, Honda Motor Company. It was launched in 2001 and now continuing the second generation product. Honda Jazz trademark is used in Europe, some of Asian countries, Australia, Oceania, Middle East, and Africa. In Japan, China and America, the car was named the Honda Fit. Until 2007, Honda Motor Company has sold 2 million units of Honda Jazz around the world.
Honda Jazz First Generation
Honda Jazz made its debut in 2001 in Japan, then in Europe and Australia in 2002, South America, South Africa, and Southeast Asia in 2003, China in 2004, Mexico in 2005, Canada and the U.S. in 2006, and in Indonesia by the end of 2003.
Variants
Honda Jazz sold in 6 variants (all inline 4-cylinder engine). They are:
- GD1: 1.3 L L13A i-DSI 2WD (Europe: 1.4L)
- Gd2: 1.3 L L13A i-DSI 4WD (Japan only)
- GD3: 1.5 L L15A 2WD
- GD4: 1.5 L L15A VTEC 2WD (only Canada, the United States, Mexico and Indonesia)
- GD5: 1.5 L L15A 4WD (Japan only)
- GD6: 1.2 L L12A i-DSI 2WD (Europe only)
- GE3: 1.3 L L13A i-DSI 2WD (made in China)
Engine
It depends on the country, the machine is divided into Honda Jazz 1.2L, 1.3L (in Europe became 1.4L), 1.5L i-DSI (Intelligent Dual & Sequential Ignition) or 1.5L VTEC (Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control). All Honda engines has already used injection. i-DSI engine has a valve configured for 8, using 2 spark plugs per cylinder so that more complete combustion, resulting in more efficient engines and reduced emissions. VTEC engine has a 16 valve configuration so that the maximum energy released in the high-rev engine.
Transmission
Honda Jazz has a 5 speed manual transmission, 5 speed automatic, and CVT (continuously variable transmission) in accordance with the country. CVT transmission is not available in the United States. CVT-7 transmission is controlled by a paddle shift that is placed behind the wheel.
Safety
VTEC ABS / SRS, Honda Jazz highest Varian, is equipped with features ABS brakes (Anti-Lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) and BA (Brake Assist). Other safety equipments are 2 air bags for driver and front passenger.
Accommodation
Honda Jazz has spacious accommodation despite the small cabin space. That's because Honda put the fuel tank under the front passenger seat, so that the rear more spacious. High flexibility is called the Ultra Seat, and has 3 modes of utility mode (by folding rear seats will provide a flat room), long-cargo mode (by folding some rear seats and the front passenger seat will provide space for long goods with 04.02 meter in length), and tall-cargo mode (by folding rear seats holder will get a 1.3 meters maximum height)
Honda Jazz Second Generation
Car Review - The second generation of Honda Jazz was introduced in October 17, 2007 at the Tokyo Motor Show. This car offers a longer and wider wheelbase, and also increases the overall length. Available for 1.3L i-VTEC engine (maximum power of 98hp (73 kW), torque 133 N � m / 4.500 rpm) and 1.5L i-VTEC (120 h maximum power, torque 144 N�m/4.800 rpm p). Honda Jazz second generation has launched in Indonesia in early 2008.
